The KBTX-News 3 Channel provides many weather resources online including sun data, a day outlook, a day part forecast, an almanac, rainfall information, and severe weather alerts. But you can be alerted within minutes about severe weather conditions by downloading their News 3 Now Desktop Weather software. This little application features your current weather conditions and temperatures and provides you with access to Local and National Doppler radar. The desktop panel sits directly on your desktop and when minimized it sits in your taskbar. An affiliate of the CBS network, KBTX-TV/DT covers the Brazos Valley including Bryan/College Station Texas, where Burn Bans are implemented. Maps of active Burn Bans are available to view online and KBTX also provides you with the latest information on active Burn Bans for the entire country as well as across the Brazos Valley. Having the KBTX News3 Now Desktop Weather alert on your desktop will keep you up to date with all the breaking news and when a severe weather alert is issued, you will be alerted by an audible sound from your computer, which will be followed by a scrawling text warning across your computer similar to a newsreel crawl.
